My Pick

New England Patriots Analysis…

The Patriots will be making their third Super Bowl appearance in four years and will have a chance to tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for most Super Bowl wins if they can win their sixth Super Bowl, when they take on the Eagles.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s health will be the main storyline for the Patriots as we get closer to the Super Bowl because Brady suffered a cut on his throwing hand, which required 12 stitches a few days before they faced the Jacksonville Jaguars in the AFC Championship Game.

Despite the injury, Brady played well and was able to lead the Patriots to the win. With the time off between now and the Super Bowl, the Patriots are hoping the cut will be fully healed.

Gronkowski suffered a concussion early in the game and didn’t return, but the Patriots are hoping he will be cleared to play in the Super Bowl.

New England’s defense stepped up big in the second half of their game against Jacksonville, and the team will need a similar performance to give themselves a chance to win this one.

Philadelphia Eagles Analysis…

The Eagles have been underdogs throughout their postseason campaign. At first, the team thought it was insulting since they had the best record in the league this year, but the players and fans have since embraced the role and are hoping to pull off one more upset and win the Super Bowl.

The Eagles defense has been the biggest reason for their playoff success. They followed up their Divisional round performance against the Atlanta Falcons, in which they gave up 10 points, with another masterful performance against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Eagles held the Vikings to seven points in a game that wasn’t close after the first quarter.

The Eagles defense also came up big thanks to Nick Foles, who threw for 352 yards and three touchdowns in the win. The Eagles will be hoping for another big game for Foles as they try to win their first Super Bowl trophy.

Final word…

As the defending Super Bowl champions, the Patriots are understandably the favorites, but the Eagles are playing with a big chip in their shoulders right now, making them my pick. Take the Eagles +5.

Play: Eagles +5
