Pittsburgh Steelers Analysis…

The Steelers were embarrassed by the Jacksonville Jaguars at home last week, with Ben Roethlisberger throwing a career worst 5 interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns.

During the week, running back LeVeon Bell complained about the team relying too much on the passing game, so expect to see a heavy dose of Bell against the Chiefs.

For Pittsburgh to win this game, the players have to do a better job protecting the ball and limit their mental errors because the Chiefs have shown they are capable of putting up a lot of points this season.

Roethlisberger especially has to limit his turnovers, as he already has eight turnovers in five games and only six touchdowns.

Pittsburgh’s defense has done well so far this season, holding opposing offenses to 17.8 points per game, which is 6th in the league. They will face their toughest test of the season against a Chiefs team that is averaging 32.8 points per game.

Kansas City Chiefs Analysis…

The Chiefs are not only the biggest surprise of the season, they are also the only undefeated team left in the league.

A lot of credit for their success this season goes to quarterback Alex Smith, who has been called a game manager for most of his career. Smith is currently having the best season of his professional career, and is third in passing yards this season and tied for third in touchdowns as well. He has completed over 76 percent of his attempts this season and hasn’t turned the ball over either.

Smith and the Chiefs offense have gotten a lot of help from rookie running back Kareem Hunt, who leads the league I n rushing yards and is second in the league with 4 rushing touchdowns.

Tyreke hill has also been great for the Chiefs this season, leading the team in receiving yards and returned a punt for a touchdown last week against the Houston Texans.

While the Chiefs’ offence leads the league in points scored per game, their defense is holding opponents to 22.2 points per game, which is 17th in the league.

Since the Steelers have struggled to stop the run this season, expect to see the Chiefs try to ram the ball down their throats as they look to avenge last season’s playoff loss to Pittsburgh.

Last word…

The Chiefs are on a roll right now and Arrowhead Stadium will be rocking in this one. Take the Chiefs -4.
