My Pick

Dallas went in to the preseason with a lot of optimism because quarterback Tony Romo, who missed most of last season was returning, and the team drafted talented running back Ezekiel Elliot to improve their running game, which was one of the worst in the league last year.

However, Romo injured his back during the preseason, casting doubt on the team being successful this season.

Arguably the best QB in the league, Rodgers should be able to move the ball at home.

Arguably the best QB in the league, Rodgers should be able to move the ball at home.

Despite not having Romo, the Cowboys are 4-1 and on top of the NFC East, thanks to the impressive play of rookie quarterback Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot.

Through the first five games of the season, Prescott has thrown for over 1,200 yards with four touchdowns and zero interceptions, which is a record for rookie quarterbacks, and Elliot, who some thought wouldn’t live up to the hype, leads the NFL in rushing yards, and is second in the league in touchdowns, one behind leader Carlos Hyde, who leads the league with 6.

The Cowboys defense, which many though would be a liability this season, is one of the best in the NFL, holding opponents to an average of 18.2 points per game, which is 8th in the league.

The Green Bay Packers came into the season with high expectations, mostly due to the return of Jordy Nelson, who missed the entire 2015 season with an injury. At 3-1, the Packers are in good shape to make the playoffs, but the team hasn’t played as well as expected.

The Packers lost their first division game to the short-handed Minnesota Vikings, who are the only undefeated team left in the league, and are now a game behind the Vikings in the division. After the loss to Minnesota, the Packers reeled off two straight wins, but didn’t dominate their opponents the way they usually do.

Aaron Rodgers, who is considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, hasn’t played as well as expected in some games, which has people wondering if his skills have started to decline.

Rodgers will be trying to put the questions about his skills declining behind him with an impressive performance against Dallas. However, he will need his offensive players to be on the same page against the opportunist Dallas defense that will be bringing a lot of pressure on Sunday.

Final word….

The Green Bay Packers are very difficult to defeat at home, and since the Cowboys have a rookie at quarterback, I think the atmosphere will be intimidating, which is why I’m picking Green Bay to cover and get the home win.
