My Pick

In their first meeting, the Bills defeated the Patriots 16-0, in a game they dominated from the start. The Patriots played the game without Tom Brady, who was serving the last game of his four-game suspension.

The Patriots also didn’t have backup quarterback Jimmy Garropolo available, and started third-stringer Jacoby Brissett during the game.

Let's not forget, Brady was not in the lineup during the 16-0 Bills win over the Pats in week 4.

Let’s not forget, Brady was not in the lineup during the 16-0 Bills win over the Pats in week 4.

The Bills were able to take advantage of the situation and handed the Patriots their first shutout home loss in a long time.

After defeating the Patriots, the Bills went on to win three of their next four games and are in second place in the AFC East. They have been able to succeed because of their running game, which is the second best in the league with an average of 152.3 yards per game.

However, the team is likely going to be without leading rusher LeSean McCoy, who is dealing with an injury. The Bills will also be without talented receiver Sammy Watkins, who is also dealing with an injury.

Without McCoy and Watkins in the lineup, Tyrod Taylor will have to find a way to lead his team to another victory over the Patriots without two of his best offensive weapons.

Tom Brady and the Patriots have been on fire since the future Hall of Famer returned from his suspension. The Patriots have won three consecutive games, and have victories over the Cincinnati Bengals and Pittsburgh Steelers, who they expect to challenge them in the playoffs.

Brady’s return has also been very good for tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was irrelevant in the offense in Brady’s absence, and is back to his Pro Bowl form with Brady back in the lineup.

Despite Brady getting all the attention for the team’s success since his return, the defense has been one of the biggest reasons the team has played so well this year. The Patriots are allowing opponents to score 15.3 points per game, which is the fourth best in the league.

After a disappointing loss to the Miami Dolphins, in which they allowed Jay Ajayi to run for over 200 yards, the Bills defense will be trying to redeem itself, but they will have to figure out how to stop the run very quickly because LeGarrette Blount has been running the ball well this year and will likely get a lot of carries.

Final Word….

The Patriots are clearly the better team and will be playing with a chip on their shoulders, so I’m picking them to get the win and cover the spread.
