Bet On the MLB – Chicago White Sox @ Kansas City Royals September 16th

My predictions record on the season is now 13-5. You can see my previous picks here. I like the White Sox-Royals match-up this evening.

Tonight’s chosen match-up: Chicago White Sox (68-82) @ Kansas City Royals (82-67)

After a 4 game win streak the Chicago White Sox have now dropped their last 2 games. Included was yesterday’s 4-3 loss at Kansas City. The Sox took a 3-2 lead in to the bottom of the 9th last night but closer Jake Petricka blew the save and was saddled with the loss as he gave up 2 earned runs on 3 hits. It was his 4th blown save of the season. Starter John Danks pitched a solid game as he threw 6 innings allowing zero earned runs on 2 hits with 6 strikeouts. Rookie 1st baseman Jose Abreu continues to lead the team with a .323 average, 35 home runs (he’s tied for the White Sox rookie record), and 102 rbi’s. The team is currently in 4th place in the AL Central, 16 games behind the leading Tigers. They have been eliminated from any kind of playoff contention. Their starting pitcher tonight is right-handed Chris Bassitt. Bassitt has an 0-1 record with a 4.73 era in 13.1 innings pitched. He’s made 2 starts this season. His last start he lasted 6 innings giving up 1 earned run on 5 hits in a home game versus the A’s on September 10th. With their 4-3 victory last night the Kansas City Royals stayed 1.5 games behind the AL Central leading Tigers. Reliever Wade Davis picked up the win, his 9th of the season. Davis pitched 1 inning allowing zero earned runs on 1 hit as he pushed his season era to 0.69 in 65.1 innings pitched. The team is 4-6 in their last 10 games. Their starting pitcher tonight is right-handed Liam Hendriks. Hendriks has a 1-2 record with a 5.06 era in 26.2 innings pitched. In his last start, on Sept 11th versus Boston, he suffered the loss as he only pitched 2.1 innings as he gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits.

The Royals are 9-4 versus the White Sox this season. The Royals have won the last 3 meetings. The White Sox are 29-44 on the road this season. The Royals are 40-35 at home this season.

White Sox vs Royals Prediction

The Royals have struggled in the last couple of weeks but they’ve had success all season versus the White Sox.
