Bet on Denver Broncos Vs San Francisco 49ers Week 7

The Denver Broncos (4-1) beat the New York Jets last week by a score of 31-17. The lopsided win, however, was not as impressive as the final score appeared. Peyton Manning struggled to move the ball with the usual ease that fans have come accustomed to seeing. Manning was able to find Demaryius Thomas and Julius Thomas for a touchdown each. Peyton Manning has already thrown 15 touchdowns on the season. He is on the verge of passing Brett Favre’s career touchdown mark. If Peyton’s going to break the record, he’ll have to overcome a San Francisco defense coming off an impressive performance.

The San Francisco 49ers (4-2) will look to keep their winning streak alive at Mile High this Sunday night. Last week, the Rams were up early in the game before the 49ers defense showed up and sacked Austin Davis back to the Stone Age. It makes sense that the 49ers would find their defensive groove against a Rams offensive line that has allowed more quarterback pressures than any other team in the NFL. The 49ers will not have as much success this week when they travel to a rowdy Mile High stadium. If the 49ers are to win, they’ll need a heavy dose of Frank Gore to keep Peyton out of the lime light and on the sidelines.

Team Breakdowns

Broncos: Denver has been solid all season long. Whenever the Broncos have needed a big catch, Peyton has been able to find a receiver open. Last week, even though the Broncos struggled early, Peyton was able to find Demaryius Thomas 10 times on 12 targets. Thomas had 124 yards and one touchdown on the afternoon. When Peyton was not too busy passing to his favorite target, he settled for Thomas2.0. Julius Thomas is emerging as the best tight-end in the league. With Peyton Manning at quarterback, he’s basically unstoppable. It’s a tossup at this point to which Thomas will catch the record breaker.

49ers: San Francisco has been entirely written off this week. If you’re listening to the experts it’s almost a foregone conclusion that the Broncos will hold serve at home. The 49ers need to use this as bulletin board material. The NFC West is the most complete division in football and every week each team is in a battle for first place. The 49ers cannot afford to fall behind the Cardinals and the Seahawks. If the 49ers want to win this week they’ll need to dial-up the running game. Taking the ball out of Peyton’s hands is the only way to stop the Broncos offensive machine. The 49ers defense will need to force turnovers and get pressure on Payton. If the 49ers can hold the Broncos to under 24 points, then they’ll have a chance to pull off the upset.

Free Pick

With all the attention given to the passing game, its Denver’s running attack that will be the key to the Broncos success. The 49er defense must stop Peyton from making history. This will be the perfect opportunity for running-back Ronnie Hillman to cement his role in the offense. After taking over for Montee Ball last week, Ronnie Hillman ran for 100 yards on 24 carries. It was easily the best production from the running-back position for Denver all season. San Francisco will have to rely on Colin Kaepernick if they have any chance of pulling off the upset. If Kaepernick can avoid pressure and keep drives alive with his feet, then the 49ers might be able to keep Payton Manning on the sidelines and out of the end-zone. The 49ers are playing in back-to-back away games on a short week. Having to play in Denver will be tough for the 49ers to overcome. The away team will keep it close but count-on Peyton to make history and Denver to take get the win.
