Supreme Novice Hurdle
The Cheltenham Festival kicks off on Tuesday with the Supreme Novice Hurdle. I included this screenshot to show that you can bet on every single race at the Festival at Bovada.
The Champion Hurdle
The Champion Hurdle is the predominant event on the first day of the Festival. As you can see Buveur Dair is a big favorite to win the race and rightfully so. The horse is coming off an impressive win at the BetFred Contenders Hurdle in early February and has won the last 7 hurdle events he’s entered, while going 9 for 10 with hurdle wins in his career. Buveur Dair is also the defending champion in this race. It’s going to take a big performance to knock off the favorite.
The Queen Mother Champion Chase
Wednesday’s big race is the Queen Mother Champion Chase, which is a prestigious grade 1, 2 mile steeplechase event. This year Altior is the favorite to take down the top prize after winning all 7 chase races the horse entered in the past couple years.
The Cheltenham Gold Cup
The crown jewel of the Cheltenham Festival is the Gold Cup, which takes place on the final day of the Festival and brings out the finest grade 1 horses in the UK. There is no overwhelming favorite in this race, but Might Bite is being given the best chance to win at odds of 3/1. The horse won all 5 of the chase events entered last year including the RSA Novices’ Chase at last years Cheltenham Festival. That said, this is really anyone’s race and picking someone with longer odds can get you a nice return.
To see all of the odds for the other races at the 2018 Cheltenham Festival, head over to Bovada.lv and select ‘Horse Racing Futures and Props’ from the left sidebar of the sportsbook.
