The Haskell Stakes is the biggest race that comes to Monmouth Park Racetrack in New Jersey each year. There is a nice $1,000,000 purse and the Grade 1 race is part of the Breeders’ Cup Challenge series that rewards the winner with a spot in the Breeders’ Cup Classic this November.
This years race features Preakness Stakes winner, Journalism, who is a significant favorite with morning line odds of 4/5. The other top contenders in the race are Goal Oriented, Gosger, and Burnham Square.
In this article I will look at the morning line odds for the 2025 Haskell Stakes and also provide a 3 step guide to getting your bets in on this race come Saturday.
2025 Haskell Stakes Odds
Here are the morning line odds and post positions for this years edition of the Haskell Stakes. It’s important to remember that your bet will not be fixed at these odds. The odds will change throughout the day depending on the amount of money that comes in on each horse.
- Bracket Buster 10/1
- Journalism 4/5
- Wildncrazynight 30/1
- Burnham Square 5/1
- National Law 20/1
- Gosger 9/2
- Kentucky Outlaw 15/1
- Goal Oriented 4/1
My Pick
I like Journalism to win this race at odds of 4/5. As mentioned earlier, he won the Preakness Stakes, and also finished second in both the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. Journalism is considered one of the fastest horses in the world having won 3 of his 5 races in 2025. I think he’s a class above the rest of this field and should win the race running away. I don’t usually like taking the chalk as my pick, but I don’t see any other contenders with the ability to beat him in this race.
Play: Journalism 4/5
