The Haskell Invitational Stakes is the biggest race that comes to Monmouth Park Racetrack in New Jersey each year. There is a nice $1,000,000 purse and the Grade 1 invitational is one of the best races for 3-year olds between the Triple Crown races and the Breeders Cup in October.
This years race features mainly horses that did not compete in the Triple Crown races. Maximum Security, one of the favorites, did run in the Kentucky Derby finishing in 17th position after entering the race with 10-1 odds. The other top contenders at this years Haskell Invitational include King for a Day and Mucho Gusto.
In this article I will look at the morning line odds for the 2019 Haskell Invitational and also provide a 3 step guide to getting your bets in on this race come Saturday.

2019 Haskell Invitational Stakes Odds
Here are the morning line odds for this years edition of the Haskell Invitational. It’s important to remember that your bet will not be fixed at these odds. The odds will change throughout the day depending on the amount of money that comes in on each horse.
- Maximum Security 8/5
- Mucho Gusto 2/1
- King for a Day 5/2
- Everfast 10/1
- Joevia 10/1
- Spun to Run 15/1
- Bethlehem Road 20/1
I like King for a Day to win this race at odds of 5/2. He defeated Maximum Security at the Pegasus Stakes at Monmouth Park last month, and has won both his races in 2019. I think he’s coming into his own and should be able to overcome drawing the rail to get the win.
Mucho Gusto is another competitor, but I think this is quite a step up in competition for him, and I also think the added distance from what he’s used to could play a factor.
Maximum Security had a poor showing at the Derby and as I mentioned above he was beaten by King for a Day at the Pegasus, so I’m not going to take him as the favorite here at the Haskell.
Play: King for a Day 5/2
