I’m going with 2024 Kentucky Derby winner, Mystik Dan, to win the race. He dropped off after the Kentucky Derby and Preakness last year, finishing far back with low speed numbers in his next three races, but he looks like he’s back with improved fitness this summer. Mystik Dan won the Blame Stakes in late May, and he had strong races in his other two summer races as well with speed numbers that rival the other top horses in this race.
Add in the fact that the favorite, Integration, hasn’t won a race this year, and Cairo hasn’t won a race since 2023, I think Fort Washington is the biggest competition to Mystik Dan in this field. That said, Mystik Dan has been consistently strong this summer and he’s shown the ability to win big races in the past, so Mystik Dan is my pick.
