I’m going with Burnham Square to win the race. The son of Liam’s Map is the hottest horse in the field, carrying a three-race winning streak into this spot, and he’s been installed as the 5/2 morning line favorite for good reason. He’s gotten the job done every time out this year and looks like the one to beat.
The biggest danger is Test Score, who posted the fastest last-out speed figure in this field when he finished a clear second in the Grade 1 Manhattan at Saratoga. Trainer Graham Motion knows how to spot a horse in the right race, and Test Score is dangerous at 9/2. The Shug McGaughey pair of Integration (4/1) and defending champion Fort Washington (5/1) can’t be tossed either, though Integration is still chasing his first Grade 1 score despite a string of near-misses. Even so, Burnham Square’s momentum makes him my pick.
