2017 Atlanta Falcons Futures Odds (Super Bowl, NFC South, and More)

Heading into the 2017 season, the Falcons are one of the top contenders in the NFC after wrapping up an 11-5 season with a trip to the Super Bowl. Since the team would like to forget about the disappointment of blowing a 21-3 lead to Tom Brady and the Patriots, they will have a lot to prove this season and will be playing with a chip on their shoulders.

The Falcons were able to put up a lot of points last year thanks to league MVP Matt Ryan, wide receiver Julio Jones, and running back Devonta Freeman. However, their defense let them down in a few games, including the Super Bowl.

The Falcons addressed some of their defensive holes with the addition of players like linebacker Darius English and Quincy Mauger. If their defense improves drastically from last season, the Falcons will be a tough team to beat this year.

In this article I’m going to look at the various futures bets you can make on the Atlanta Falcons 2017 season.  I’ll look at their Super Bowl odds, as well as their odds to win the NFC East, total wins and their week 1 game.

To Win Super Bowl

Falcons +1600

Despite being the defending NFC champions, the Falcons have the fourth best odds in the NFC to win the Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers (+750), the Dallas Cowboys (+1200) and the Seattle Seahawks (+1200) were given better odds to win it all.

The Falcons defeated the Packers and Seahawks in the playoffs last season, but didn’t play the Cowboys so it will be interesting to see how things play out this year when they play both teams in the regular season.

If the Falcons defense plays like they did last year, they aren’t a good bet to make the Super Bowl.

To Win NFC South

  • Atlanta Falcons +170
  • Carolina Panthers +250
  • New Orleans Saints +260
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +350

With the Carolina Panthers expected to bounce back from a disappointing season, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers expected to be a playoff contender, the Falcons might not be a good bet to win the NFC South.

Regular Season Total Wins

  • Over 9.5 -130
  • Under 9.5 Even

Last year, the Falcons won 11 games playing a schedule that had four playoff teams. This year, their schedule is harder with six teams that made the playoffs last year, but I see no reason why they can’t win 10 games.

Falcons Week 1 Spread and Total

The Falcons will start their season on the road against the Chicago Bears. The point spread for the game is -7 in favor of Atlanta and the over/under on total points scored is 50.5 at -110.

The Bears were one of the worst teams in the NFL last year and will be one of worst in the league again this year so it’s a safe bet to take the Falcons on the point spread and the under on total points.

Play: Falcons -7 and Under 50.5
