Bet On The 2019 Pacific Classic – Morning Line Odds and How To Bet

This Saturday, Del Mar Racetrack in California will play host to the 2019 Pacific Classic.  There’s a lot on the line for the 10 horses competing with the Pacific Classic being a G1 race with a million dollar prize pool and also offering a ‘win and you’re in’ spot in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.

Seeking the Soul, coming off a win at the Stephen Foster in June is the favorite in the field at odds of 3/1. Pavel, who finished second last year, and Quip are the other two top contenders with odds of 7/2 and 9/2 respectively.

In this article I will provide the morning line odds for the 2019 Pacific Classic and also give you my winner pick for the race.  At the bottom of the page you will also find a simply 3 step guide to getting your bets placed on the Pacific Classic this Saturday if you live in the USA.

2019 Pacific Classic Odds

Here are the morning line odds (and post positions) for this years Pacific Classic.  The odds will change throughout race day depending on the amount of money that comes in on each horse.

  1. War Story 8-1
  2. Quip 9/2
  3. Pavel 7/2
  4. For the Top 12-1
  5. Seeking the Soul 3-1
  6. Higher Power 8-1
  7. Tenfold 8-1
  8. Campaign 6-1
  9. Mongolian Groom 20-1
  10. Draft Pick 20-1

Seeking the Soul, Pavel and Quip are the three favorites to take down this years Pacific Classic. That said, Campaign, War Story, Higher Power and Tenfold all come in with morning line odds of 8-1 or shorter, which shows this is expected to be an extremely competitive race that could go a variety of ways.

My Pick

I’m looking outside of the contenders and going with Campaign at odds of 6-1. This is a step-up in competition for the 4 year old colt, but he is coming off a win and in his other G1 race, he competed well at the Santa Anita Handicap at the same distance as the Pacific Classic.

Campaign is used to the longer races, which could pay dividends this Saturday against a field that is used to running 1 1/8 mile or shorter. The Pacific Classic is a 1 1/4 mile race and I could see Campaign taking advantage down the stretch.

Play: Campaign 6-1

Seeking the Soul, Quip, and Tenfold all ran in the Stephen Foster in June, with Seeking the Soul winning and Quip finishing second. Here’s a video so you can see the form of these two favorites:
