It’s race day! This Saturday, Del Mar Racetrack in California will play host to the 2023 Pacific Classic. There’s a lot on the line for the 11 horses competing with the Pacific Classic being a G1 race with a million dollar prize pool and a ‘win and you’re in’ spot in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
Geaux Rocket Ride, Arabian Knight, and Defunded are the three favorites in the eleven horse field with 4-1 or shorter odds each.

I think the five horses with 8-1 and shorter odds are legitimate contenders to win the Pacific Classic. This should be an exciting race with several contenders with the ability to get the win.
My Pick
I’m taking Stilleto Boy at odds of 8-1. He is an experienced horse who has shown a lot of speed on some occasions. His most recent win was at the Santa Anita Handicap in May, at the same 1 1/4 mile distance as the Pacific Classic. His time to win that race was 2:01.96 which is a fairly fast time for that distance. He also defeated Defunded in that race, who is 4-1 in the morning line odds for the Pacific Classic. If Stilleto Boy can find the same form as the Santa Anita Handicap he has the ability to earn the win over this field.
I believe Stilleto Boy is a legitimate contender to get the win on Saturday, so at these odds I’m willing to take him to win.
