Oakland Raiders Analysis…

The Raiders got a much needed win against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, snapping a four-game losing streak in the process. Now, the team will try to get back to .500 with a win against the Bills.

Oakland will be without running back Marshawn Lynch, who will be serving a one-game suspension for making contact with an official while he was trying to break up an altercation on Thursday.

Even though the Raiders gave up 30 points on Thursday, newly acquired linebacker NaVorro Bowman’s impact was felt in the game, as he finished with a team high 11 tackles, despite being on the team for only three days.

Expect the defense to play much better as Bowman gets more comfortable in their system.

Offensively, Derek Carr and receiver Amari Cooper finally got back on the same page, with Carr throwing for 417 yards and 3 touchdowns, and Cooper hauling in 11 catches for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Chiefs.

Oakland fans will be hoping the two continue to connect this week.

Buffalo Bills Analysis…

The Bills were expected to battle the New York Jets for the worst record in the AFC East, but the team apparently didn‘t get the memo. The Bills are 4-2, and are in a tie for second in the AFC East, one game behind the New England Patriots.

The Bills have won three of their last four games, and have wins against the Atlanta Falcons, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Denver Broncos, proving they are a legitimate team.

Buffalo will be trying to improve their odds of making the playoffs by handing the Raiders a loss that will knock them down to 3-5, and give the Bills a cushion in the Wildcard race.

Buffalo’s offense hasn’t been spectacular, but they have done enough to help the team win games. The Bills average 19.8 points per game, which is 19th in the league.

Defensively, the Bills are one of the best in the NFL, and opponents are scoring an average of 16.8 points against them, which is 4th in the league. If they continue playing at a high level, Buffalo will be very tough to beat.

Final word…

The Raiders will get off to a slow start because of the time difference between both coasts, but I expect them to bounce back in the second half and get the win. Take Oakland +3.

Play: Raiders +3
