Bet On Super Bowl 51: Spread and Over/Under Odds and Picks

The big game is set to take place this Sunday in Houston, with the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons battling it out in Super Bowl 51.  The Super Bowl is always the biggest betting weekend of the year in the United States and with a game that is expected to be as exciting as they come, this Super Bowl should be no exception.

Tom Brady will look to add his 5th Super Bowl win to his amazing career, while Matt Ryan and the high powered offense of the Falcons will look to outpace the legend en route to the Championship.

In this article I will look at the Super Bowl odds and give my spread and over/under picks, while also outlining a simple step by step guide to placing your Super Bowl wagers if you are new to betting online.

Super Bowl 51 Spread and Over/Under Odds

Here are the current odds for the Super Bowl from Bovada.lv.  These are the spread betting and over/under odds.  You will also be able to find a huge selection of prop betting lines at the Bovada sportsbook.

As you can see the Pats are favoured to win the game by a field goal and the total is a massive 59.5 between these two high powered offenses.

My Picks

I look at this game and I see two high powered offenses that will be extremely difficult to stop.  The Pats are on a 9 game winning streak and have put up points in the mid 30 to 40 range in each of their last four games.  The Falcons are on a 7 game winning streak of their own and have put up 33+ points in each of the games in this span.

When I look at this game I really don’t see the Falcons defense being able to stop Tom Brady and this Pats offense that has a tremendous number of playmakers.  On the flip side I do give the Pats D a chance at at least slowing down Matt Ryan and company.  If Malcolm Butler is able to do close to as good a job on Julio Jones as he did last game against Antonio Brown then this Falcons offense could suffer.

The Pats are the better defensive team and even if they just slow down this high powered Falcons offense that should be enough to win the game.

Play: Patriots -3

Like I said above I don’t think the Falcons D will get many stops against the Pats and I think the Pats D can only hope to slow down the Falcons.  This should be a shootout and even though the total is ridiculously high I’m still taking the over in this game.

Play: Over 59.5
