Bet On Super Bowl 59 Props – Fun Novelty Prop Bets With Picks

The most fun you can have betting on the Super Bowl is getting action on some of the wild and wacky prop bets that online sportsbooks offer for the big game.  You can find props for anything from the length of the national anthem, to the color of the winning teams gatorade shower and everything in between.  These types of prop bets really add to the excitement of the Super Bowl and make for some very interesting viewing.

In this article I will outline a few examples of the common prop bets you can place on the game and then also get into the fun, wacky, novelty props on offer at the end.  I will also provide you with a very basic 3 step guide to getting your bets in on these props online in time for Super Bowl 59.

All of the props I’m looking at below are taken from BetOnline.ag. The odds are accurate as of Super Bowl Sunday (February 9th).

Super Bowl Prop Bets – Game Focused

Super Bowl 59 MVP

If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, it is expected that Patrick Mahomes will likely win the MVP Award for the third straight year. If the Eagles win then it’s more of a toss up between Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts. That said, a few big plays from one of the other players on either team and the MVP could be given to someone other than one of the three expected players. I think AJ Brown at +2500 is an interesting play. If Brown is able to haul in some big touchdown catches en route to an Eagles upset victory, then I think he could get the nod.

First Score of the Game

This is a popular prop bet that you will often see on Super Bowl Props sheets. What will be the first way points get on the board. Either teams touchdown, field goal, or safety are the options.

You can find more prop betting lines related to the game by selecting ‘Added Game Props’ or ‘Added Player Props’ under the ‘Football’ and ‘Super Bowl’ drop down menus at BetOnline.ag.

Super Bowl Prop Bets – Fun Novelty Props

Ok, that’s enough of the normal football related prop bets.  To see a full list head over to BetOnline.ag.  There is an absolutely monster selection of Super Bowl prop bets where you can basically bet on any statistic from the game.

Here are some of my favorite novelty props for the game (odds for all props from BetOnline.ag accurate as of Super Bowl Sunday – February 9th):

Will Any Player/Coach Cry During the National Anthem

  • Yes -250
  • No +170

The odds for the popular prop for length of anthem are no longer available when I’m making this update. That said, there are several other National Anthem related props including whether a player/coach will be seen crying, and which players will be shown first during the anthem.

Who will the MVP Refer to 1st

  • God/Religion -190
  • Team/Teammates +195
  • Family +1200
  • City/Fans +1400
  • Coaches +2000
  • Team Owner +2400
  • Taylor Swift +3300

This is always a popular prop as well, and you can usually get some insight based on which players are most likely to win the award. I think teammates is the most likely reference regardless of who wins the Super Bowl this year and I think it’s a steal at odds of +195. I believe Mahomes thanked his teammates first the past two years.

First words said by Kendrick Lamar for his half-time show?

  • Yo +150
  • What’s Up +250
  • I Can’t Hear You +350
  • Make Some Noise +400
  • New Orleans +400
  • Hello +500
  • Yeah +500
  • Super Bowl +500
  • Drake +2500

**The above odds are from February 9th.

Kendrick Lamar is headlining the halftime show. The odds for which song he will sing first are no longer available, but you can now bet on what words he will say first when he begins his show.

BetOnline.ag also has several other half-time related betting lines including whether Kendrick Lamar starts the show wearing a hoodie, and an over/under market on the number of songs sung.

What color will the liquid be that is poured on the winning coach?

  • Yellow/green/lime -200
  • Purple +350
  • Clear/water +500
  • Orange +800
  • Blue +1100
  • Red/pink +1600

This is a very popular Super Bowl prop.  I always go with water on this prop because if the players have any decency they won’t get their coach all sticky for the trophy ceremony. The past two years the liquid was purple for the Chiefs victories, so bettors may expect the Chiefs to use purple once again. That said, the yellow/green/lime option has become the favorite as we get closer to the game so there may be some leaked information out that one or both teams will have that color in their gatorade jugs for the game.

Which chiefs fan celebrity will be shown first on the broadcast?

  • Taylor Swift -300
  • Paul Rudd +600
  • Henry Winkler +700
  • Jason Sudeikis +700
  • Rob Riggle +700
  • Melissa Etheridge +900
  • Brad Pitt +900
  • David Koechner +1000
  • Eric Stonestreet +1000

BetOnline.ag has several of these “seen first” prop betting lines including notable Eagles fan (Bradley Cooper, Tina Fey, Sylvester Stallone, Ryan McElhaney, Kevin Hart), and which Manning (Peyton, Eli, Archie).

As you can see the prop bets can get pretty outrageous.  There are several other Taylor Swift, Tom Brady, Jason Kelce, broadcast and game props that you can bet on as well.  Check out BetOnline.ag for the full list.
