The most fun you can have betting on the Super Bowl is getting action on some of the wild and wacky prop bets that online sportsbooks offer for the big game. You can find props for anything from the length of the national anthem, to the color of the winning teams gatorade shower and everything in between. These types of prop bets really add to the excitement of the Super Bowl and make for some very interesting viewing.
In this article I will outline a few examples of the common prop bets you can place on the game and then also get into the fun, wacky, novelty props on offer at the end. I will also provide you with a very basic 3 step guide to getting your bets in on these props online in time for Super Bowl 54.
All of the props I’m looking at below are taken from BetOnline.ag.

Super Bowl Prop Bets – Game Focused
Super Bowl 54 MVP
If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, it is expected that Patrick Mahomes will likely win the MVP Award. If the 49ers win then it’s much more up in the air which player will claim the MVP. Garoppolo is still the favorite among the 49ers, but he hasn’t been required to have a big game yet in these playoffs. In the NFC Championship game, Raheem Mostert would have gotten the MVP nod with his 4 touchdown performance. I think Mostert at +550 is an interesting play in the Super Bowl as well.
Player To Score First Touchdown
- Damien Williams (Chiefs) +600
- Raaheem Mostert (49ers) +650
- Travis Kelce (Chiefs) +800
- Tyreek Hill (Chiefs) +800
- George Kittle (49ers) +1000
- Deebo Samuel (49ers) +1200
- Emmanuel Sanders (49ers) +1600
- Sammy Watkins (49ers) +1600
- Tevin Coleman (49ers) +1600
Those are the 9 players with 16/1 or better odds of scoring the first touchdown. You can see the full odds under the ‘Football’ and ‘Super Bowl Player Futures’ drop down menus at BetOnline.
I like Mostert +650 here. The Chiefs have fallen behind in the first quarter of both of their previous playoff games, so I think there’s a good chance the 49ers score first, and Mostert is the most likely of the Niners to find the end zone.
Super Bowl Prop Bets – Fun Novelty Props
Ok, that’s enough of the normal football related prop bets. To see a full list head over to BetOnline.ag. There is an absolutely monster selection of Super Bowl prop bets where you can basically bet on any statistic from the game.
Here are some of my favorite novelty props for the game:
Time To Sing National Anthem
- Over 2 minutes and 1 second -160
- Under 2 minutes and 1 second +120
Demi Lovato is singing the anthem this year. She also sang the anthem at the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor boxing match and her time was close to 2 minutes and 10 seconds. I don’t expect her to cut her time by much, if any, when long Super Bowl anthems are somewhat of a tradition. I like the over here for sure.
Who will the MVP Thank 1st
- Teammates +125
- God/Religion +250
- Coach or coaches +500
- Winning City +500
- Family +700
- Other +1400
This is always a popular prop as well, and you can usually get some insight based on which players are most likely to win the award. If Mahomes wins the award I think most people expect him to thank his teammates, which is why that prop is the favorite.
Will Donald Trump tweet during the game?
- Yes -110
- No -130
The Donald Trump twitter account is always a hot topic and a great prop betting opportunity.
Longest Completion by Patrick Mahomes
- Over 44.5 Yards
- Under 44.5 Yards
The Mahomes props will be popular. I’m expecting Mahomes to connect on a bomb at some point in this game.
What color will the liquid be that is poured on the winning coach?
- Lime/Green/Yellow +200
- Red/Pink +250
- Clear/Water +300
- Blue +400
- Orange +400
- Purple +1400
This is a very popular Super Bowl prop. I always go with water on this prop because if the players have any decency they won’t get their coach all sticky for the trophy ceremony. Last year the liquid was blue when the Patriots won, and it was green when the Eagles won the year before, so perhaps water/clear isn’t the front runner I feel it should be.
As you can see the prop bets can get pretty outrageous. There are several other Demi Lovato, J-Lo, Shakira, and other celebrity props you can bet on as well. Check out BetOnline.ag for the full list.
