Bet On The 2013 Bahrain Grand Prix

logo_f1_716982909Fernando Alonso’s victory in China last week gave us the third different race winner in terms of both driver and constructor in as many races, as was the case last year. Sebastian Vettel’s fourth place finish in China guaranteed him his place at the top of the standings, but he saw his lead cut to three points to the Lotus of Kimi Raikkonen and nine to Alonso. The Bahrain Grand Prix rolls around this weekend, and presents an opportunity for Ferrari to build on their dominant performance from last week, and for the others to catch up.

We look at the early odds for the Bahrain Grand Prix that takes place this Sunday below.

Alonso and Ferrari confirmed their good pace in the two practice sessions that took place on Friday, but perhaps the standout performance came from Kimi Raikkonen, who topped the second practice session ahead of the two Red Bulls, followed by Alonso in fourth.

Mercedes found themselves a bit off the pace on Friday morning and the feeling is that they may have their worst outing of the season so far in Bahrain this weekend. Lewis Hamilton was honest in his appraisal of the situation at Mercedes this weekend and admitted they would face an uphill struggle to get very far this weekend. The 2008 World Champion found himself one second behind the pace setting Lotus of Raikkonen on Friday.

It has been an unpredictable start to the season so far, and picking a clear winner has not been easy. If Ferrari manage to get their setup right, and qualify near the top of the grid, with the pace shown last week, it is not difficult seeing Alonso coming away with this race again on Sunday afternoon. But the Red Bulls will be smarting from their weak performance last week, especially Mark Webber, who after the debacle of Malaysia, crashed out last week, and will be more motivated than ever to prove to his team his title winning credentials.
