Bet On the MLB – Baltimore Orioles @ Toronto Blue Jays August 6th

If you read my last prediction, I surely didn’t expect Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke to give up 3 earned runs on 6 hits against the Angels. I hope to get back on the correct side of my predictions record (6-2) with today’s Baltimore Orioles-Toronto Blue Jays match-up.

Tonight’s chosen match-up: Baltimore Orioles (64-48) @ Toronto Blue Jays (60-54)

The Baltimore Orioles come in to today’s match-up winners of their last 3 games including last night’s 9-3 win at Toronto , the beginning of their 3 game series. The Orioles smacked 3 home runs in the victory yesterday. During their 3 game winning streak the team has outscored their opponents 17-6. Nelson Cruz is the leading the team this season with 29 home runs and 77 rbi’s. Their starting pitcher tonight is Wei-Yin Chen. Chen has a 12-3 record with a 3.76 era. He has recorded 5 wins in his last 5 starts while allowing a combined 9 earned runs. The Toronto Blue Jays are in a slump as they come in to tonight’s match-up on a 4 game losing skid. The Blue Jays have scored 3 runs or less in their previous 4 games and have been outscored 26-7. As a result of their losing streak the team has dropped a full 5 games behind the Orioles in the AL East. Their starting pitcher tonight is Drew Hutchinson. Hutchinson has a 7-9 record with a 4.62 era. He has only recorded 1 win in their last 5 starts (with 1 no decision and 3 losses). He’s allowed 21 earned runs in those 5 starts.

Baltimore and Toronto have each won 5 games in 10 match-ups against each other this season. Including tonight’s game the teams still meet 8 more times this season.

Orioles vs Blue Jays Prediction

With the Blue Jays not being able to produce runs as of late (in their past 4 games) and having to face Chen it looks the Orioles are the way to go on this one.
