Bet On the MLB – Miami Marlins @ Los Angeles Angels August 25th

Tonight’s chosen match-up: Miami Marlins (64-65) @ Los Angeles Angels (77-52)

After losing a weekend series 2 games to 1 in Colorado against the NL’s worst Rockies the Miami Marlins travel to Los Angeles to face the Angels. Despite the 1-2 record over the weekend they outscored the Rockies 21-17. The Marlins are 9-6 in their last 15 games. Tonight is the 4th game of a 9 game road trip. Right-fielder Giancarlo Stanton leads the team with a .299 average, 32 home runs, and 94 rbi’s. Their starting pitcher tonight is right-handed Jarred Cosart. Cosart has a 10-8 record with a 4.14 era. In his last outing, a no-decision, he pitched 6 innings giving up only 1 earned run on 6 hits. In 22 of his 23 starts this season he’s pitched 5 or more innings. The Los Angeles Angels arrive home after a 10 game road trip in which they went 7-3. Over the weekend they dropped 2 of 3 in Oakland. Center-fielder Mike Trout leads the team with a .288 average, 29 home runs, and 91 rbi’s. Their starting pitcher tonight is lefty Wade LeBlanc. LeBlanc was recalled from Triple-A on Thursday. This season in the majors he’s pitched in 2 games (neither was a start) and has given up 6 earned runs on 8 hits. He has a 7.36 era. He’s filling in this evening for injured ace Garrett Richards.
