Virginia vs Auburn

  • Virginia -5.5 (-105)
  • Auburn +5.5 (-115)
  • Virginia -240
  • Auburn +200
  • Over/Under 130.5

Virginia is a 5.5 point favorite against Auburn in the first Final Four game. Both Virginia and Auburn needed overtime to book their ticket to Minneapolis, with Virginia needing a desperation shot at the last second to tie the game with Purdue and eventually win in OT.

Auburn has now won 12 straight games dating back to the regular season and winning the SEC tournament. Jared Harper and Bryce Brown are playing lights out basketball and even without Chuma Okeke, I think this team will be able to put up points against Virginia.

I’m still not sold on Virginia as a clutch team and even if they do win I don’t expect them to pull away from Auburn in this game. Virginia needed OT to beat Purdue and only beat Oregon by 4 points. They also lost to Florida State in the ACC semi-finals by 10 points. They are playing decent basketball, but they aren’t at their best and I expect them to lose one of these tight games before winning the title.

I’ll take the points and look for an Auburn win.

Play: Auburn +5.5

Michigan State vs Texas Tech

  • Michigan State -3 (-104)
  • Texas Tech +3 (-116)
  • Michigan State -162
  • Texas Tech +142
  • Over/Under 132

Michigan State killed off Duke with a big late 3-pointer and a missed R.J. Barrett free throw in the Elite Eight. Cassius Winston played exceptionally well, but let’s be honest, Duke was playing with house money after squeaking out wins over UCF and Virginia Tech.

Texas Tech has impressed me more than Michigan State in this tournament with big decisive wins over Buffalo, Michigan and Gonzaga, three high end teams in their last three games. The Texas Tech defense completely shut down Michigan and slowed down the #1 ranked offense of Gonzaga last game.

I think Jarrett Culver will be able to match Winston in this game, and then I think it will be the defense of Texas Tech that puts them over the top and gets them this win.

Play: Texas Tech +142
