It’s race day! This years Belmont Stakes race takes place this evening (Saturday, June 6th) at Saratoga Race Course in New York. The race is moving to Saratoga for the third consecutive year due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. This is the third and final year the race will be held at Saratoga, with Belmont Park scheduled to reopen in the fall of 2026 and the Belmont Stakes returning to its traditional home in 2027. The change of venue will once again result in this years race having a distance of 1.25 miles instead of the traditional 1.5 miles typical of a Belmont Stakes race.
There will not be a Triple Crown winner crowned at the 2026 Belmont Stakes. Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby winner, did not run at the Preakness Stakes, which was won by Napoleon Solo. That said, the Belmont Stakes is still one of the biggest races of the year and I’m expecting plenty of media attention and betting action.
On this page I have recommended our top rated betting site where Georgia, Alabama and Louisiana residents can bet on the Belmont Stakes, touched on the legal climate of sports betting in each state, looked at the Belmont Stakes odds and finished with a simple 3 step guide you can follow to get your Belmont Stakes bets placed online quickly.

Belmont Stakes Betting in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana
It is currently not legal to operate a sportsbook in Alabama or Georgia. Louisiana, however, did launch regulated sports betting in January of 2022, and there are currently 8 mobile sportsbook apps available in the state.
At this time residents in Alabama and Georgia must place bets through offshore betting sites that are licensed and regulated outside of the United States. BetOnline.ag falls into this category. **Louisiana residents also have the option to bet through offshore sportsbooks.
2026 Belmont Stakes Odds
Here are the fixed odds from the BetOnline sportsbook for the Belmont Stakes race (from race day – June 6th).
As you can see, Renegade is the favorite to win the race, with Chief Wallabee the second favorite, and Golden Tempo, Commandment, and Emerging Market as the other top contenders leading into the race.

Pick your horse, enter your risk amount on the Bet Slip and click ‘Place Bet’ to lock in your wager.
Here’s a screenshot showing the clicks (screenshot from earlier in race week, but clicks remain the same):
Racebook Section (Parimutuel Betting)
In the Racebook section you have the full variety of horse race betting options. Open the ‘Thoroughbred’ drop down menu and select ‘Saratoga’. Select race #13 (post time of 7:04pm) for the Belmont Stakes.
**You can also select ‘158th Belmont Stakes at Saratoga’ from the Featured Races menu in the Racebook to quickly navigate to the Belmont Stakes race.
Select the wager your want to make (win, place, show, exacta, etc), pick your horses and enter your wager amounts, and click ‘Add To Bet Slip’. Once you have all of your bets added, click ‘Submit All Bets’ on the Bet Slip to confirm your wagers.
It’s important to understand that the bets made through the Racebook will use the parimutuel betting system, which means the odds will change leading up to post time depending on the amount of money wagered on each horse. Check out our horse race section for more information on the different bets you can make.
