It’s fight week! Conor McGregor returns to the octagon this Saturday, January 18th in Las Vegas. McGregor will face UFC veteran, and fan favorite, Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone in the main event of UFC 246.
McGregor has not fought since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in a Lightweight Championship fight at UFC 229. That was also considered his return fight, after he took 2017 for his boxing match with Floyd Mayweather. Conor has not won in the UFC since defeating Eddie Alvarez for the Lightweight Belt at UFC 205 in November of 2016.
Donald Cerrone is on a two fight losing streak, but these losses were to the #1 and #3 ranked challengers in the lightweight division. Before these losses he won 3 in a row, and he is still undoubtedly a top 5 lightweight fighter in the UFC, so he’s the perfect match-up to see where McGregor is at in his career.
