The 2026 Belmont Stakes will take place this Saturday, June 6th at Saratoga Race Course in New York. The race will move to Saratoga for the third consecutive year due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. This is the final year the race will be run at Saratoga, with Belmont Park scheduled to reopen in September of 2026 and the race returning to its traditional home in 2027. The change of venue will result in the race distance changing from the traditional 1.5 miles typical of a Belmont Stakes, to 1.25 miles this year at Saratoga.
There will be no Triple Crown winner at this years Belmont Stakes. Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby winner, did not run in the Preakness Stakes, which was won by Napoleon Solo. That said, the Belmont Stakes is still one of the biggest races of the year and I expect plenty of betting action on race day.
The 2026 Belmont Stakes will be broadcast from 3-7:30pm ET on FOX. The post time for the race is 7:04pm.
