The 2026 Belmont Stakes will take place this Saturday, June 6th. The coverage of the race will air on FOX, with coverage beginning at 3:00pm ET and the post time of the race set for 7:04pm ET. The race will also stream on FOX One.
This year’s race will take place at Saratoga Race Course for the third consecutive year due to ongoing renovations at Belmont Park. This change of venue results in the race being run at a distance of 1.25 miles instead of the Belmont Stakes traditional distance of 1.5 miles. This is set to be the final year the race is held at Saratoga, with Belmont Park scheduled to reopen in the fall of 2026 and the Belmont Stakes returning to its traditional 1.5 mile distance in 2027.
There will be no Triple Crown winner this year after Golden Tempo, the Kentucky Derby winner, did not run in the Preakness Stakes, ending his chance at the Triple Crown. That said, the Belmont Stakes is still one of the most watched races of the horse racing season, and I expect significant wagers on this years Belmont Stakes.
