How To Bet On The 2024 Preakness Stakes from Texas

It’s Preakness weekend! The 2024 Preakness Stakes is scheduled to take place this Saturday, May 18th at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland. The race has a post time of 7:01pm EST and will be broadcast on NBC from 4:30-7:30pm.

Muth, the Preakness Stakes morning line favorite (odds of 8-5), was scratched midway through race week due to illness. This withdrawal makes Mystik Dan, the Kentucky Derby winner, the favorite with morning line odds of 5-2 as he looks to win the race and keep his bid for a Triple Crown alive.

Preakness Stakes Betting in Texas

Texas is one of the many states that do not allow residents to bet on horse races through the official racetrack websites.

That said, there are several offshore betting sites, such as, that accept Texas players and allow you to bet on the Preakness Stakes, and other horse races, from the comfort of your own home.  It is completely legal for Texas residents to use these offshore betting sites, and until Texas comes out with their own betting platform these offshore sportsbooks are really the only way for Texans to bet on horse races and other sports.
