The King’s Plate is the equivalent of the Kentucky Derby here in Canada. It’s the first race of the Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing and the highest profile horse race to take place at Woodbine each year.
The 2024 King’s Plate race is set to take place this Friday, August 23rd (postponed from Saturday, August 17th). The race was expected to be broadcast on Citytv and Sportsnet, but I’m not sure if they will be broadcasting the race now that it was postponed. The race has a post time of 5:34pm.
