It’s race day! The King’s Plate is the equivalent of the Kentucky Derby here in Canada. It’s the first race of the Canadian Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing and the highest profile horse race to take place at Woodbine each year.
The 2025 King’s Plate race is set to take place this evening (Saturday, August 16th). The race will be broadcast on Citytv and Sportsnet from 4-6pm EST, with the race having a post time of 5:34pm on Saturday.
