Australian Grand Prix BettingThe Australian Grand Prix is set to kick off the 2014 F1 racing season this coming weekend.  Lewis Hamilton is favoured to win this first race of the season with Nico Rosberg and Fernando Alonso tipped to be his biggest competition.

Lewis Hamilton didn’t have a great year in 2013 finishing 4th in the driver standings.  He will look to start off 2014 with a big win as he is the favourite to finish atop the standings this year.  Hamilton finished last years Australian Grand Prix in 5th position, so he does have some improvements to make this year.  Kimi Raikkonen who is listed at 14/1 is the defending champion after coming from the 7th grid to win last years race.

Last year Sebastian Vettel had the fastest qualifying time at this race, while Lewis Hamilton, the current favourite had the third fastest time.  Mark Webber, who is not one of the favourites to post the fastest qualifying time was the second fastest finisher last year.

Last year Kimi Raikkonen won the race by 12.45 seconds over Fernando Alonso.  This is a pretty big margin for an F1 race, but according to the odds an over 10 second gap happens about 50% of the time.
